About Us

At Vandenberg Farm, our bees thrive in their natural habitat, contributing to the rich biodiversity of our local ecosystem. Our goal is to boost the bee population across the region while increasing awareness about the critical role bees play in our environment.

We hope that our apiaries, featuring bees that forage on Texas wildflowers, will encourage conversations among neighbors, friends, family, and the broader community about the vital importance of bees. Through these discussions, we aim to foster a deeper appreciation and support for bee conservation in Adkins, Texas, and beyond.

The first step to becoming a successful beekeeper is to learn as much as you can about the bees themselves. Considering all the variables that may affect your honeybees, you may see something different every time you get into your hive. In order to make appropriate management decisions, beekeepers must be flexible in their ability to figure out why bees are behaving a certain way, and how certain actions may impact their well-being.

At the heart of Vandenberg Farm are owners Shawn and Rachel Vandenberg, who cherish the importance of family and the serene, country life in Adkins, Texas. Together with their grandchildren, they share a passion for beekeeping, instilling love and respect for nature in the next generation. The Vandenberg family is committed to preserving the natural beauty of their land and the well-being of their bees, creating a legacy of sustainable agriculture and community engagement.
